Seville is the southern Spanish capital, famous for its historic churches and palaces, Moorish buildings, flamenco dancing, and more. It has a long history of theatrical performances and its' most beautiful and historic theatre, Lope de Vega, is named after the famous 17th century playwright. There are also larger, more modern theatres as well as plenty of smaller, intimate venues, perfect for alternative productions, as well as flamenco performances - this is Seville, after all!
As well as the 2 main festivals -Easter and the April Fair, other important events are added such as The Ancient Music Festival taking place in February and March, where historical music concerts are intertwined with other artistic expressions such as dance, theatre, painting and in December the National Congress of Processional Music Bands is held, which brings together Spanish musical groups.
